RE: "Redskins" phony "controversy":


There is so much more work to be done. Here's a cursory list of offensive names (and these are just colleges and universities, and the list is not complete ...):

Brown University (obvious reference to skin color)

Brigham Young University (age insensitivity)

Butler University (promotes oppression by the bourgeoisie)

Fordham University (promotes beer drinking and possibly alcoholism)

Gettysburg College (celebrates slack-jawed Confederate yokels)

Limestone College (mining is *bad*)

University of Maryland (labels all gay dudes as “marys”)

Mount Ida College, Rider University (celebrates sexual harassment)

Queens University (makes fun of cross-dressers)

Rush University (this endorses a particular political viewpoint)

Shorter University (doesn’t the Americans with Disabilities Act prohibit this already?)

Skidmore University (insensitive to the incontinent)

All colleges/universities whose name includes the words “Saint” or “Christian"* (might offend atheists)
