The Devil?

I was talking to another agnostic the other day. One of my best friends. And I told him that it was getting harder and harder to believe that the behavior of the Left and their minions was attributable to stupidity or even what we might call "human nature"....

...that nature that can be, naturally if nastily,  greedy, lustful, gluttonous, slothful, selfish, self-centered, jealous, envious, vicious, murderous and all the rest of the deadly sins.

The consistency of evil, the pervasive badness of intent and result just seem too much for the happenstance of nature, or stupidity, or cluelessness, or ignorance.

Everywhere we turn there seems to be evil invading our culture, our country, our world.

There doesn't seem to be any relief.

NOTHING Nancy Pelosi does results in any positive good.

NOTHING Ă˜bama does results in any positive good.

NOTHING Hollywood does results in any positive good.

NOTHING the education establishment does results in any positive good.

NOTHING the establishment press does results on any positive good.

Every move by every Liberal institution, politician, individual, business ends in positive evil.

To individuals, to human rights, to freedom, to the human spirit, to the country, to the Constitution, and to the world.

The wholesale march by the entire left, and as a result, our culture, toward badness, evil, poverty, crime, addiction,  ignorance,  hopelessness, decadence, neglect, coarseness, vulgarity is too fucking* consistent, too persistent, too widespread, too all encompassing to be just natural human nature...even at its worst.

Ignorant savages sometimes do right. Even low-down dirty scoundrels sometimes do good..if just by accident or chance. But that doesn't seem to be happening here. It's all bad...and getting worse. Fast.

I'm starting to believe that evil....tangible...real...even nameable...evil is afoot; alive and well in the world.

The question is, what the hell do we DO about it? Not sure political action is the answer when you're working against the Devil.

Now...all you believers...please try to refrain from comments like....."DUH!" etc. Remember, it's hard to believe when you've spent almost 50 years not believing...even if you wanted to.

...just sayin'.

*did you see what I did there?

You write, "...I'm starting to believe that evil....tangible...real...even nameable...evil is afoot; alive and well in the world..."

Truly, it is. We war not against flesh and blood, but against powers and spirits and principalities in heavenly places. 'Intangible, invisible' things that can only be felt and seen by the spirit, and can only be fought in the same vein.

Oh, for sure we can fight against the liberal agenda and people, their programs and activities, but those are but a symptom of the disease. In truth, without defeating the 'head of the household', we could slaughter every libtard born and still lose the battle because the evil regenerates itself every moment.

Believing on Faith really, for me, is easier than when I did not believe- for even longer than you tried not to. There's a lot to be said about peace of mind, not struggling with an idea and accepting on Faith that He not only Is, but created all things, even the material to make a Big Bang. (Once it dawned on my unbeleiving mind that I was accepting on 'faith' the scientific bang theory that 'the stuff was always there', letting that foolishness go was easy.)

    Sorry- corrected too late.

  3. After four decades as an atheist, I believe. Partially because of this.

There comes a time when 'random chance' and 'coincidence' are simply insufficient to explain current events. Evil exists. Not 'selfishness,' not 'stupidity.' EVIL. Something that seeks to pervert, twist, ravage and destroy for the sake of it. Something anti-God, anti-thought, anti-truth and anti-life.

What do we do? Whatever is necessary. We stand for Truth and God, whatever the cost...

...and we pray from the depths of our hearts and souls.

  4. Yeah, Wraith, it seems just too focused and single-mindedly bad to be chance, accident or stupidity.

Thing is, I get the whole "don't bring a knife to a gunfight". But what do you bring to a battle with the devil?
