  1. Any bets on how soon government attempts to ban and regulate 3D printers? Printers capable of using carbon fiber, titanium and steel whisker inks are being developed if not already in production. With a little knowledge of mechanical and chemical engineering, the array of weapons that could be produced is staggering. Designs for anti-armor mines, fully automatic weapons and unique types of ammunition can be bootlegged and smuggled using cryptographic methods government hasn't even thought of at this time.

The real danger of this capability is the same danger government always perceives; the ability to forcefully and successfully resist a tyrannical government. If they ask "who needs anti-tank mines", remind them of Budapest, Prague and Tiananmen Square.
