...to rule them all and in the darkness bind them...

I was at our local Tea Party meeting last night. And sadly, there were fewer people in attendance that ever. Don't exactly know why.

The agenda: Updating us on the progress of Agenda 21 in the Bay Area.

So, how did I feel when we were done? Overwhelmed. Defeated. Tired. Exhausted.

Maybe I've answered my own question.

They never stop. The Left DOES. NOT. STOP. It's like you can't even rest your eyes for five minutes, because when you open them again, they've unleashed ten more horrors onto the battlefield.

I feel like the hobbits, men and elves fighting Mordor.

Only it feels like they had a better shot at victory than we do.

We are facing our very own trolls and orcs and Uruk-hai...and we don't have a wizard.

Or a fucking ring.

I find myself quoting King Theoden of Rohan often:

"How did it come to this?"

Okay, yeah, geek. Wanna make something of it?

If you haven't read The Lord of the Rings, what the hell are you waiting for?

These references should not be obscure to any civilized person.

Just sayin'

  1. There is another factor - the Republicans. The Republicans jumped in to allegedly aid, but actually to coop, the Tea Party. Republican politicians used the Tea Party rhetoric to get reelected, then with few exceptions did nothing.

When Democrats are in power both domestic and military spending grows; when Republicans are in power both domestic and military spending grows - what is the difference?
