Let me make it as simple as possible so even Liberals can understand...
When Øbama talks about Governor Walker "union-busting", I think it's time we clarify:
There's a difference between a Private Sector Union and a Public Sector Union.
1) If Chevrolet decides to treat with a union, and give in to every demand it makes, and the price of their cars goes up as a result, I as a consumer have the choice to support that action by buying a higher priced Chevy, or NOT support that action by buying a cheaper, better car from another maker.*
2) When the government decides to treat with a union, it comes to my house with a gun, points it at my head, and steals my money in order to give the union members what they demand.
Liberals, can you tell the difference?
Tea Partiers. Are okay. With option #1.

*Yes, well, this WAS true before the gummint took it over...

I put one down and picked up another, a looooong time ago. Nothing at stake here, except freedom. Actually, I never put one down,,,I never played on that side of the fence.
ReplyDeleteThe bastards are holding a gun to our head at every turn, the government funded unions are just a small part. If Governor Walker can stand firm, the symbolic victory to America will be worth many times the monetary savings to the State of Wisconsin.
ReplyDeleteI'm somewhat repeating myself here,but...when these issues arise,I ask my supposedly "rebellious,non-conforming,artsy-type" friends..."Why are you always siding with the collectivist-thinking Establishment a-holes,rather than those who believe in Individual achievement/ability? The unions are there to protect the mediocre workers.Simple as that..."
ReplyDeleteThe unions are there to support a leftist government.
ReplyDeleteCollective bargaining, as it now stands, takes away individual liberty and the right of said individual to negotiate his own terms of employment as well as what candidate a portion of his union dues are going to support. I cannot think of one union that has ever leaned to the right.
