The Meltdown of Global Warming
What does the best evidence now tell us? That man-made global warming is a mere hypothesis that has been inflated by both exaggeration and downright malfeasance, fueled by the awarding of fat grants and salaries to any scientist who'll produce the "right" results.
The warming "scientific" community, the Climategate emails reveal, is a tight clique of like-minded scientists and bureaucrats who give each other jobs, publish each other's papers -- and conspire to shut out any point of view that threatens to derail their gravy train.
Such behavior is perhaps to be expected from politicians and government functionaries. From scientists, it's a travesty.
This is one to carry around in your pocket, to shove in the face of the next asshole who prisses about plastic bags, disposable diapers, oil companies, coal or recycling. (After you kick their ass.)
Oh yeah...be sure to send a copy to your "representatives" too.
The Gunslinger
Recently,I hooked up with an old musical mate of mine, who at one point expressed his surprise that I hadn't entered teaching, since "you always had so many books" blah blah blah. I told him I had sussed out that "academia" was comprised of 80% bullshit politics,NOT true intellectual endeavor,so I opted out,in favor of an independent auto-didactic learning curve,so to speak. Not that I am that brilliant,"too cool for school",etc...but EVERY step forward in true understanding of the "human condition" comes from non-dogmatic,outside the box thinkers. My Dad and Mom were the best teacher/role models ("simple country folk" with innate curiousity, and knew how to use the public library). Accreditation from academia doesn't mean jack-shit,just like "a judge ain't nothing but a lawyer who knows the governor"...
ReplyDeleteTjones... Yep. & "I told him I had sussed out that "academia" was comprised of 80% bullshit politics,NOT true intellectual endeavor,so I opted out,in favor of an independent auto-didactic learning curve,so to speak."
