Elegant Words

Every now and again, you run across a line that is so lovely, expressive, and in this case, so funny, it stops you in your tracks:

Sam threw a look over his shoulder that was meant to convey "shut the hell up, you moron," but it must have landed closer to "please elaborate..."

That is some good writing right there.
