When I suggested to a friend, before the election, that I thought I might vote for obama, (I didn't) he looked at me with wonder in his eyes and said "Jon, what the fuck have you been smoking?". I went on to explain to him that we were being force fed a loser in McCain or our worst nightmare.
ReplyDeleteFor years this country has been dying a slow death at the hands of politicians. I was ready for the catalyst that would blow the hell out of everything and wake up the rest of the citizenry; I got it. Like the cancer that is unresponsive to safe and conventional procedure, it's time to open up the patient and cut out the offending mass with a large and bold stroke.
In conjunction with 'To Stop and Calm', I did, months ago. Going about my daily life while quietly slipping off the grid and waiting for the momentum to build around me, I am ready to lead or follow as the situation presents.
It's extremely important to have a handle on who your true friends are, your allies, who's sympathetic, who can't be trusted and who needs... something else. WTSHTF, friends will be few and wannabes will be many. Don't trust any of the latter until they've proven themselves.
In the meantime it may be a good idea to take a deep look into yourself and ask if you're really committed to making the sacrifice that may be necessary.
