ØbamaCare Rapes Consumers and Taxpayers

Of course, the Democrats and the White House are attacking Wellpoint. Let's hope nobody who works there ends up in a ditch full of bullet holes with his hands tied behind his back...in a "Chicago-style Suicide". The Wall Street Journal has the story:
In fact, what distinguishes the Wellpoint study is its detailed rigor. Take Ohio, where a young, healthy 25-year-old living in Columbus can purchase insurance from WellPoint today for about $52 per month in the individual market. WellPoint's actuaries calculate the bill will rise to $79 because Democrats are going to require it to issue policies to anyone who applies, even if they've waited until they're sick to buy insurance. Then they'll also require the company to charge everyone nearly the same rate, bringing the premium to $134. Add in an extra $17, since Democrats will require higher benefit levels, and a share of the new health industry taxes ($6), and monthly premiums have risen to $157, a 199% boost.

Meanwhile, a 40-year-old husband and wife with two kids would see their premiums jump by 122%—to $737 from $332—while a small business with eight employees in Franklin County would see premiums climb by 86%. It's true that the family or the individual might qualify for subsidies if their incomes are low enough, but the business wouldn't qualify under the Senate Finance bill WellPoint examined. And even if there are subsidies, the new costs the bill creates don't vaporize. They're merely transferred to taxpayers nationwide—or financed with deficits, which will be financed eventually with higher taxes.

I don't want to be boring...but if we don't defeat this, we're finished.

  1. Agreed if this bill is not defeated it will be the end of the ballgame! No overtime on this one people, it truly will be the end of small businesses the end of what is left of middle class America, The only ones who will benefit from this are the very poor that are already dependent on the goverment, the special interests which have their hands on your wallet already. "POOR" if this is passed it will be all of us unless you are one of the elite and really wealthy. BUT MOST of ALL: a step in the wrong direction, financial collapse it will be the beginning of communism !!! Most of all who is going to pay for this? That is the question they keep tap dancing around! How much is it going to cost ? Just another question they don't want to answer! I for one as a Father I LOVE MY KIDS, I want them to have a chance at a future one without a tremendous debt and most of all FREEDOM! ! ! I for one don't like chains they make me itch and I don't look good in red either. So I say NO!!!! NO! MEANS NO! We The People cannot allow our elected officials to continue to RAPE OUR COUNTRY! So like G.S. said if it happens its over. Its way past time for a whole lot of them to go! "WE NEED TO MAKE THEM HEAR US AND MAKE THEM FEAR US"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. "I don't want to be boring...but if we don't defeat this, we're finished."

It is dire... I'll temporize a smidge though... if this bill stands we are finished - definitely. But as severe a setback it will be if it passes, it may also serve as a supremely useful tool to galvanize those who are waking up around the country, into uprooting and destroying those who are seeking to destroy everything that IS America. If it passes, and it's repeal isn't immediately demanded by the electorate, and proven in 2010... then, yep, turn out the lights, go Galt if you can or stock up on the freeze dried food if you can't.

Incidentally, the internet is in the very same position, and purpose, as that of health care at the moment. Businesses like Comcast are finding themselves, with 'net neutrality', in the very same position as are Doctor's - people want their services, and Govt intends to paint those wants as rights and needs which should override any other right, and that govt should control it all in order to make it more 'fair'.

It has nothing to do with a 'free and open internet', any more than govt 'health care' has to do with Health - what both are about is gaining and brandishing power, and eliminating freedom and liberty in the American sense of their meaning. Instead they are seeking to impose the notions of 'freedom' that Rousseau had in mind when he said "We must force men to be free", meaning that men must be forced to want what the proregressive elites have decided they should want.

What they want is a nation of 'people' who have no thoughts or desires not approved and inculcated in them by proregressive approved x-spurts.

Zombies are the proregressives ideal and vision for this nation.

    Boo.

  3. Van...agreed.

And if New York 23 is any indication, we might even have the momentum.

    God knows, I hope so!
