Bill would give President emergency control of Internet
Of course, this is after they take control of AM Radio.Probably the most controversial language begins in Section 201, which permits the president to "direct the national response to the cyber threat" if necessary for "the national defense and security." The White House is supposed to engage in "periodic mapping" of private networks deemed to be critical, and those companies "shall share" requested information with the federal government. ("Cyber" is defined as anything having to do with the Internet, telecommunications, computers, or computer networks.)
Translation: If your company is deemed "critical," a new set of regulations kick in involving who you can hire, what information you must disclose, and when the government would exercise control over your computers or network.
You don't think these guys have an agenda?

I hope so. I might even get to like obama.
ReplyDeleteWe're in agreement that the problem is excessive government intervention. The two big demographics who support this have traditionally been older citizens and those in their 20's. obie's first moves are death panels and controlling the internet. If libertarian thought can't prosper in this soil, it never will.
Problem one with shutting down talk radio and the internet, and I have said this before on this blog, is that it locks down the safety valve on the pressure cooker. With no where to make themselves heard (vent), since our reprehensibles aren't listening, the American people will heading towards an explosive situation with what would seem to be restriction of first amendment rights.
ReplyDeleteProblem two would be that those of us who are liberty minded will be restricted in communication if the SHTF. We will be cut off, isolated and picked off one by one or in small groups, and I seriously doubt the the MSM will cover much if any of it, especially if directed to by the govt. for security reasons.
I would suggest that we find an alternate way of keeping commo alive so that we don't give these ass bites any more free Waco's. Don't have any ideas on this myself so anybody feel free to chip in.
If you still thing this is America, you're wrong! Just Google Officer Cheeks for his take on the matter.
Slinger,
Take a look at this story from Vanderbough over at Sipsey Street Irregulars about unintended consequences as related to the health care issue. Could add this to your wolf post card campaign by sending in unmarked envelopes. If someone chooses to do this don't be stupid, use surgical gloves and a damp sponge for the stamp. Leave no DNA, prints or handwriting samples. Don't mail it from your own postal area.

Also a good read is "Unintended Consequences" by John Ross about the gun culture and erosion of your rights. You can find it free on the web.
