Incandescent Brilliance

Progressive "Republican", Cølin Pøwell has finally figured out that Stink-Eye's Imperial State might be a little too much government!

Colin Powell, one of President Obama's most prominent Republican supporters, expressed concern Friday that the president's ambitious blitz of costly initiatives may be enlarging the size of government and the federal debt too much.

"I'm concerned at the number of programs that are being presented, the bills associated with these programs and the additional government that will be needed to execute them," Mr. Powell said in an excerpt of an interview with CNN's John King, released by the network Friday morning.

Goddamn! Ya Think??

What a fucking genius. Hah! And they call Republicans dim-witted!

Has the man been off the planet since January?

But wait...in the end, he gets to his Progressive Agenda:

"I don't like slogans anymore like 'limited government.' That's not the right answer. The right answer is, give me a government that works", [italics gs]

Standard empty rhetoric. Liberty demands a small, weak government that has little or nothing to do—so its efficiency is irrelevant. The only thing government "works" at is depriving citizens of their rights.

he said. "Keep it as small as possible. Keep the tax burden on the American people as small as possible, but at the same time, have government that is solving the problems of the people." [italics gs]

Where, I ask...WHERE in the Constitution is it written that the job of the government is to "solve the problems of the people"?

To do that, you need a Progressive Imperial State.

His arguments eat themselves. And he's too stupid to know it.

  1. I love that quote you have about keeping the tax burden on American's small. The only real way to keep our economy strong is not by raising taxes, but by keeping taxes low, fair and simple.

I've been looking for a way to take action and contact our legislators and sign petitions and found some good policy the U.S. Chamber of Commerce backs (here). I don't have a lot of money or time, but I figure this will help other people do good.

  3. You dumbass, one of the six things the constitution says to do is "promote the general welfare". If you didn't read the constitution, don't use it as an argument. I mean come on, it's in the preamble for god's sake.
