Quote of the Day

"Personal freedom is impossible without economic freedom. When productive people are stripped of the fruits of their labor in order to support bloated governments, the poor get poorer and progress grinds to a halt."

  1. Personally, I like the government attacks on the economy.

If they weren't busy bankrupting us they'd be going full out against gun-owners, Christians, or any other sub-culture that could be easily demonized. Attacks on the economy attack everyone. They can't hide their actions behind the mantle of public good.

History shows that the usurpers will stop their asault on our Constitution when they go bankrupt. They are destroying themselves publicly. A bit hard money wise, but I'd much rather have the freedom than the money or a revolution.

  2. Problem is, without economic freedom, there is NO freedom.

If they OWN the means of production, they OWN YOU!

They don't have to take your guns, they'll just starve you to death.

You've got to think the "big picture" and control of the economy is control of everything. Period.

If they control business, they control gun & ammo manufacturers (along with all others). They can deprive you of guns without ever passing "anti-gun" legislation, just by bankrupting or otherwise controlling or regulating the businesses.

A free economy is a necessary, even if not a sufficient requirement for a free people.

Remember, Marxism is an economic theory....but it inevitably results in political tyranny.

  3. Once again culture and location cause confusion. It's hard to remember that you live near San Francisco.

The government could try to starve me, but it would only be an inconvenience, not fatal. Ditto with the guns and ammo. I would say that you are giving the government too much power, but you've made me realize that I don't know how this is playing out for city dwellers.

You're assuming that they can total the economy in broad daylight and still hold on to political power. That I don't believe. If the Soviet Union couldn't do it, obie doesn't have a chance. As with the Soviet Union, when they fall, it will be a golden opportunity to gain more liberty.
