In physics: Every action produces an equal and opposite reaction.
It's true about social forces too. My response to the Excremental Coronation that took place yesterday was rage. I wrote about my "hate", and how it bothered me to feel it so strongly—because it was entirely too reminiscent of the Left's mindless hatred of President Bush.
I think I get it now. It's an "equal and opposite reaction" to the depth and breadth of the hysterical, worshipful adoration of the creature Zero.
The zombies' idolatry is dangerous. Not just for themselves and the place it has taken them, but because it raises the opposing emotion in its opponents; and to the same level. The very fainting glorification and devotion with which the ZerObots express their belief that Zero is going to sweep them into a new world—is busy building an opposing force.
Things escalate...in pairs. If you talk reasonably, so will I. If you begin to shout, so will I. If you punch me in the nose, I will bash you with a pool-cue. (I believe in overwhelming force and disproportionate response, sue me.)
If you support your leader as a public servant, I will consider him a political opponent.
If you worship your leader as a god, I will denounce him as a demon.
They probably ought to think about that as they soil themselves at the sight of him. But none of them do. They seem to be competing with each other to be the most mewling, crawling, slavish floor-licking subjects possible.
And that's why I'm feeling so unusually disgusted and enraged. And if this continues, with the connivance of the Media and the vapors of Hollywood, it will only create more of us, and harden our resolve to resist.
They know not what they do. And they will be shocked at what they have wrought...

"They probably ought to think about that... "
ReplyDeleteErm.... you want them to think? Good luck with that. ;)
Indeed! We keep using that word, because to us it's a familiar concept. We need to find another word for whatever it is they do...
ReplyDeleteThey now have what they have always wanted. They are part of the collective and never have to think again. Just exist and emote.
ReplyDeleteAn entire nation of cultists. I don't think the wold has seen this since Adolph.
It's so weird. I just can't imagine being like that. It's like I'm hardwired for extreme independence.
ReplyDeleteAlmost to an annoying and sometimes even self-defeating degree.
How can people want to be Borg?
I. JUST. DON'T. GET. IT.
