Laura Hollis has lowered the boom. Like me, she's HAD it, and is mincing no words. I'm sure one of her friends has told her, "Don't hold back, Laura, tell us what you really think."
I get that a lot.
Ms. Hollis identifies the Communism that is lurking behind Barack Obama and his harpy. And she's calling it out. I agree with every word.
Call me a dangerous, crazy radical. Not like I haven't heard that before.
Some Americans seem to be perfectly okay with this in spite of the fact that Communism has never worked anywhere, anytime, ever, in the history of the world; and that it is responsible for more murders than any other ideology ever.
I guess if you don't want to pay for your own college education, and you think that if anyone makes more money than you do, it's "unfair"....what's a little mass starvation, detention, torture and genocide?
The only thing I disagree with Hollis on is that I'm not sure it will be "Communism" in the classic sense. After all, Obie is adamantly opposed to "free trade" and his party is fiercely protectionist. They don't want to use the military to help out allies, or further American security abroad, which seems to argue a certain "isolationism". So, rather than seeking to unite the "workers of the world" in one international revolution, they seem to be advocating a sort of provincial American Socialism. Or, what might be called: National Socialism.
Wait. That sounds familiar. Where have I heard that before?
Oh yes, I remember now: Nationalsozialismus.
NAZI for short.
That worked out well.
Welcome to the New World Order.

"I am tired of all the dancing around the subject with respect to Barack Obama’s political, social, and economic views. He’s not a “liberal,” or a “Democrat,” or a “progressive,” or even a “socialist.” Let’s call it what it is, shall we? It’s time to use the “C” word. His policies are communist, pure and simple."Read the entire article here.

The problem is that the entertainment and news businesses (as if there's a difference) have spent the last fifty years convincing the population that (a) Communism ended with the fall of the Berlin Wall, (b) Joe McCarthy was a crazy right wing kook who led the Congress through a wild goose chase and victimized innocent screenwriters, (c) Barry Goldwater was a crazy right wing kook who would have blown up the world had he been elected, (d) Ronald Reagan was a crazy right wing kook who was too senile to do anything too bad, (e) anyone who expresses any sort of admiration for these guys is also a crazy right wing kook, (f) everyone else in the world has gone socialist, and it hasn't hurt them, and (g) we're not cool like the rest of the world because we haven't. You say "communist" and people think you're nuts; say that socialism is bad, and they tell you that Karl Rove and Dick Cheney are controlling your mind. Getting past that is the trick, but we can't stop trying.
ReplyDeleteAgreed on all counts, my friend.
ReplyDeleteI guess, if you believe in that sort of thing, it's our "Mission from God", or our Hero's Journey...to somehow beat these odds.
Good luck to us all.
Of course, sticking together helps!
So glad you're here.
