Evolving Indignities

Just thought I'd share a couple of terms I've found while sampling the Web.

Several of the PUMA (Party Unity My Ass) Democrats are calling Obie "(The) Precious". It's, well, precious. I believe I shall do so in the future. It's better than "Obie", which is merely disrespectful. "Precious" is positively dripping with scorn and sarcasm.

I really like it. A lot.

The second term I turned up was "Progs"--short for Progressives. It's not inherently insulting, but its evocation of frogs or trog(lodyte)s gives it a subtly unpleasant rendolence which is wholly appropriate.
