Caligula Falls

There is no question that decent people of all parties are outraged and sickened by the slavering, drooling attack on Governor Sarah Palin, her daughter...and the most intimate issues of their family.

We all wish it would stop. It's disgusting to hear, and to watch.

But...

This may be the death of the usefulness of the Left Blogs and scandal-mongers, and the final throes of any remaining after-image of the appearance of fairness or integrity in Big Media.

The Drunken Sluts may have gone too far. The suggestions, accusations, demands, innuendos being made about Palin's own pregnancy and child, and that of her daughter is literally beyond the pale.

This is not being missed by average Americans. I don't think that thinking Democrats, normal Liberals, decent people of all stripes will accept this outrageous attack as legitimate.

This may not only sink the Obama campaign, as they are likely to be tarred with this debacle whether or not they have directly participated... it may be the final death rattle for any serious influence the Left-Blogs and the Left-Media might have had on real people.

Just a few short years ago the Left-Wing-Bias of Big Media was widely considered merely a tired rant of the frustrated Right. Today, almost no one doubts it. Overnight, it has become a certainty accepted by everyone but the most brain-damaged Moonbats.

And they had enjoyed such a free hand to advance their favorites and destroy their opponents, they have lost all sense of boundaries, of decency, of discretion, of kindness or compassion. They truly believe that anything is fair as long as it helps the Left and hurts the Right. Nothing is sacred, nothing is private, nothing is too despicable, too crude, too invasive, too insensitive, too baldly cruel or hurtful or damaging.

And this Left-Blog/Left-Media fiasco will, in the end, backfire. They are not "exposing" Sarah Palin. They are exposing their own villainy in spades, in the bright light of day, to the outraged view of the American people.

They are like Nero or Caligula; so convinced of their own divinity, their own power, their own infallibility, they don't realize they have swaggered right off a cliff.

If the Palin family is willing to withstand the brutal onslaught for a time, they will triumph, because the People understand who the heroes are, and who the villains in this trumped up melodrama.
