Alpha-Beta

.
This is not profound. And it's probably obvious to everyone. But damnit, Obama is a ditherer.

And we simply can't have one as President of the United States.Isn't that enough to disqualify the man?

He's all over the place with his policy positions, mostly eventually regurgitating some version of McCain's after diametrically opposing them. He's got a "plan" for straightening out the economy...which he won't share "yet"! He uh's and um's his way through meandering and vacuous responses to questions when he's not tethered to a teleprompter.

He dithers. He can't make up his mind. He hesitates. He blinks.

He is a flitting, hovering, easily unsettled, afraid-to-land, Beta man. He's not a leader. He's the guy who should be "warming up the crowd" for the Main Event, not trying to be the Main Event himself. He's weak tea, boiled meat, the vegetarian plate.

We need an Alpha-(fe)Male with confidence and resolve.

I think that's why so many people are so hesitant about Obama—why he can't "close the deal". He just doesn't inspire confidence in grownups.

Yes, I think we care about policy and character. But I think we give short shrift to our instinctive natures, our 'primitive' side who knows a leader—and a loser— when we see one.

  1. Obama is another Bill Clinton always with a finger up checking the political wind. His remarks and answers, when he can get past the stuttering, relect opinion polls. This man is nothing without his handlers

  3. I like tomr's comparison to Clinton, and I think you can add a dash of Richard Nixon as well.
