Political Evolution

I'm not sure I entirely understand the dynamic, but here are the latest numbers. McCain is "statistically insignificantly" ....yet, nevertheless....ahead of Obie for the first time since The Obamanation clinched the Demo nomination.

It's too early to suppose that the American people are, in fact, wising up about this clueless dude, but it sure would be nice to think so.

It's just such a bummer that the only alternative is old grumpy-pants.

While I will be heartily relieved after the election to find that Obie has lost, it will be a short-lived gladness bubble. Anticipating four years of a John McCain presidency would serve to blacken even the sunniest of Conservative moods.

This sorry election really is exclusively about "the lesser of two evils". And that is a sad state of affairs for a nation that has over 230 years experience electing presidents. That we can't come up with something better than these two losers is an insult to the memory and the genius of those who occupied the office in the first days: Washington, Jefferson, Adams...

My God, how the mighty have fallen.

The process that took us from Thomas Jefferson to Barack Obama in 232 years is enough to make me stop believing in Evolution altogether.

  1. We've had mediocre Presidents before;the difference now is too much power invested in shallow people.I look at Pelosi, reflect on Speaker Thomas Reed, and KNOW that Evolution is a crock.Am I the only one who, upon learning that Ted Kennedy had a brain tumor, thought "He's obviously had THAT for years!"? I know, shame on me...

  2. It should cause you to lose your faith in Democracy and the common man. Hold on. The founding fathers set up all those checks and balances because they didn't trust democracy either.

Instant communications and the common man. Two ideas that go together as well as pedophiles and boy scouts.
