Liberals are Against "Torture", But Not Murder

Here is something for the Liberal Humanitarians to get worked up about: Al Qaeda using retarded women as suicide bombers, and encouraging doctors to kill "infidels" in their care.

Oh wait, they're too busy worrying about defending the perpetrators of these crimes against violations of their American Civil Rights.

Silly me, how did I lose ALL perspective on this, and be so insensitive?

  1. It may seem idiotic to give those who are in all likelihood despicable people the benefit of the doubt, but that is what separates America from the petty dictatorships and fanatical theocracies who are only too ready to kill "the guilty" (i.e. infidels, christians, gays, capitalists... whoever they're pissed at that morning).

  2. A word to the wise, jagwio:

"The Constitution is not a suicide Pact."

    --Thomas Sowell

Being "fair" is nice. Being suicidally tolerant is just stupid.

We should not confuse the two.

  3. Aren't most of the islamo-fascist scum "Non Americans"?
The Constitution does not apply to their "treatment".
From my point of view, it's pretty much the end of the discussion.
Very similar to the "illegal alien" stupidity that pervades the nation.
What part of "illegal" don't the MOrons understand?

  4. I'm not particularly talking about the constitution. Besides international treaty, there're also those inalienable Rights such as due process. That isn't "suicidal tolerance." That's just human decency.

  5. The Right to "due process" is guaranteed by the 5th Amendment of the Constitution.

There is no "Due Process" without reference to the Constitution.

The "Unalienable Rights" are mentioned in the Declaration of Indepenence. "among which are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness"

But they did not mean by that to outlaw the death penalty (LIFE), assure the freedom of criminals and terrorists (LIBERTY), or guarantee that everybody got a free 50"plasma TV (Pursuit of HAPPINESS.

You are suggesting we offer American Citizens' Constitutional Rights to foreign enemies.

The Constitution is a social compact as well as a founding document. The only people who get to benefit from it, are those that agree to LIVE by it.

Terrorists to not recognize anyone's right to "due process", or to LIFE, for that matter, or any of the other rights enumerated in the Constitution.

They are not "signatories" of that particular "treaty". (Or the Geneva Conventions, for that matter!) Therefore, they do not qualify for its protections.

    Pay to play.

If you pull a gun on me I am going to shoot you dead. I am not going to worry about the niceties of your right to "due process".

"Due Process", like the Constitution is not a "suicide pact"...but I repeat myself.

  6. Yeah, I meant to say what Alphadog just said.

It just took me 10 paragraphs to do it!

  7. Exactly. If you pull a gun on me, I'll kill you.

Not everyone in holding has been proven to be (or even accused of) "pulling a gun on us." Plus, we kind of pulled the gun on them, you know, by invading their country.

We shouldn't sink to the terrorists' moral level.
