The woman pictured is calling herself Maria Isabel. (Apparently it is not quite exactly her real name.) She is a Cuban-American volunteer for Barack Obama.
Unlike her sensible brethren, she idolizes Che "The Butcher" Guevara.
The brighter bulbs among the Obama faithful are in an uproar over this.
Not because Che is a hero of hers, you understand, but because she would be so stupid as to admit it during a Presidential campaign, in a way that connects such sentiment with the Messiah...er...candidate.
She adores Che. She works for Obama. But the OTHER supporters of Obama, who also adore Che, don't want her to mention it because it would hurt Obama's chances for election.
In other words, they are misrepresenting their beliefs in order to get their candidate elected...knowing full well that the electorate would reject their beliefs.
The first comparison that comes to my mind is the Muslim allowance for lying to Dhimmis if the result would be good for Islam/Muslims.
These are the volunteers for the "Barry Obama's Brother-Love Travelin' Salvation Show Revival."

ReplyDeleteThe Global Poverty Act was introduced in 2005 and never became law. Given Obama's interests in Africa, I can see him championing this so that Americans can be required to send their money to Africans. Internal "welfare" isn't good enough, I guess.

ReplyDeleteLet me make myself clear. How is the rest of the world going to blame America for all the problems in the Third World, when the majority of population of the United States are all Third Worlders?
One of two things will happen. Either the US will descend into the chaos and poverty of the lands of the unassimilated immigrants, or into a balkanized state with competing and warring factions, in which case we will no longer BE a super power able to aid and support and come to the rescue of the rest of the world, as they have come to expect and depend....
OR...the White/Prosperity guilt from which much of that policy derives, will no longer be part of the mindset of the country when most of the people are not White.
Either we won't be able to help, or we won't give a shit.
Either way, when the "Guilty White Man" ceases to be the controlling power in the US, those countries who survive because of our beyond generous Foreign Aid...and emergency help will have to learn to go without.
Contrary to the idea that the demise of the White America would be a good thing for peace or prosperity for the rest of the world, the demise of America as we know it, majority White and Christian, will signal the likely descent of the rest of the world into the more or less feudal war-lord fiefdoms it was for much of its history.
When the King dies without a suitable successor, the land falls into chaos.
America is what it is because of our founding principles that are a direct outgrowth of our racial, religious and cultural heritage.
ReplyDeletePart of that identity is being generous beyond the wildest imaginings of any other country in the world today or any other country in the history of the world.
When that culture becomes something else by the introduction of unassimilated opposing cultures, the fundamental character of America will be altered, and those unique qualities will be lost.
When millions of unassimilated immigrants from countries with different values invade America, the culture will cease to be the one it is now and become another. When the majority of the population does not share the current culture, it will take on the character of the invading culture.
Since the invading millions are by and large from Third World countries and are not assimilating, American culture will become more "Third World". Third World cultures are not prosperous enough to be "generous". They are invariably poor, ignorant and desperate. They are, in fact, the major beneficiaries of largesse from the United States of America. As the USA descends into Third World status, with a Third World culture, it will be no more able or interested in "aiding" anyone beyond its borders than Third World countries are today.
You can't destroy (change!) the very culture which made a country great and expect that country to remain great.
Can't happen.
And the point is, there is no country or culture currently in the world that has created a better, more prosperous, more free, more just, more generous nation than ours. So any invading culture that "changes" ours in accordance with itself will, by definition, produce cultural and economic decline.
And that is not good for us, or for so much of the world that depends both on our ability and willingness to be generous.
Let us not forget that Third World "cultures" are also notoriously uninterested in helping their own people. The scandal of such depressed areas of the world is that the elite live in extravagant luxury while "the people" live in extravagant want.
That is the norm throughout history, and in most of the world today beyond the light of Western influence. The entire continent of Africa, most of the Middle East, China and a good share of Latin America are still in the grips of such backward cultures.
I don't want any of them invading and "changing" MY White Christian American culture...thank you very much.
First of all, being White didn't have anything to do with it.
ReplyDeleteSecondly, it's a jump in logic to say that changing some aspects of our culture will change the character of America fundamentally. The millions of "invading" immigrants are obviously drawn to America because of it's ideals and culture. If they don't totally assimilate it doesn't really matter as long as they are here legally, work hard, are moderately well educated, pay taxes, etc. That is what makes us who we are today. And that's what the vast majority of immigrants do, otherwise we kick them out! It's really unimportant what God(s) they worship, how they dress, what music they listen to, or what food they eat.
Change is not destruction. It's one of the (many) prices of living in a free society. American culture has been changing throughout America's history and will continue to do so.
And it's not YOUR White Christian America. It's all Americans' and we have had so many races and faiths come together to build this country (some of them forced to) that it is entirely infuriating that you insist on claiming some sort of racial/religious identity for the US. First and foremost we are founded on Freedom! And Freedom ain't White or Christian!! Freedom is much bigger than that.
There's so much you said in that last reply that I totally disagree with, but this comment is already long enough.
P.S. Much of the problems in the Middle East and Latin America have been fomented by US/Western influence.

Being White had EVERYTHING to do with it. This country was built expressly by White Anglo-Saxon Christians and is a reflection of their culture.
Why is that so hard for you to understand?
Did the Chinese create Chinese culture?
Did the Mexicans create Mexican culture?
Did the Africans create African culture?
Did the Tibetans create Tibetan culture?
Why can you just acknowledge that original White Anglo-Saxon, Christians created American culture?
That everyone wants to come here does not mean it "reflects their culture". Everyone wants to go to the richest place.
If other races and peoples were capable of creating America...they'd have done so in their own countries. But they haven't...because America is not a reflection of their ideals.
And, they, like you, imagine America is just an accident of location, time and space...and that no matter how much we change it, it will remain the same because it's "always been that way".
But it has "always been that way" because of the people and their united, common culture.
When it changes too much, it will be different...(obviously)
And "different" than America, is NOT America. It is something else.
And considering America is the best country in the world, what, exactly is it going to change INTO?
Considering the influences: Mexican, Muslim, Communist, atheist, secular...I can't say I have much faith it's going to be BETTER. No other place on earth run by those influences is livable by free human beings today...OR THEY WOULDN'T ALL WANT TO COME HERE!

Fact: "Brown-skinned" Portuguese and Spaniards helped shape the culture and settle America.
Fact: The Native Americans influenced our culture by teaching us about the new land.
Fact: America was both physically and culturally built up by the sweat of enslaved Africans.
Fact: America has had a long history of immigration and change. Hell, America changed so quickly every 50 years, I'd think you would recognize that as one of the forces that brought America here today.
You can't say that other cultures are/were incapable of creating America. I can't say they could have. Once you have a super power as big as America, the whole game changes. Someone else may well have done it if we hadn't.
What I want to know is why you think these "invaders" can change the fundamental characteristics of America so much as to turn us into a China or Mexico when they come here for freedom, work and peace.
And don't get me wrong. I am proud of who I am and my heritage. However, I don't pretend that America is a perfect place. I look to the values that made us what we are. And I'm sorry, the "White Christian" values of America go back much farther to the "brown-skinned" Greeks and farther than that even. America was built on freedom, charity, hard work, tolerance, free markets. That's what I am worried about preserving, and in my experience, the "invaders" I have met have all shared those values. Would you relegalize slavery because that's how the America of our forefathers was?
To say that it is a White Christian country is to ignore all of this. To discount the West's immense history and the values that made the West what it is.
