England has set up closed circuit cameras with loud speakers in two parks to tell people acting badly to shape up. Camera operators will monitor the behavior of all visitors in the parks, and shout at miscreants to stop behaving badly.
Orwellian Big Brother watching every move you make. Nice.
And I'm sure it will work to stop anti-social behavior. So the utter surrender of privacy of the entire community is surely worth it.
Let's see. They make sure to NOT teach children the difference between right & wrong. They ensure that children in school and criminals on the street are not punished for wrong-doing. They teach everyone to behave just as they like, make discipline illegal, refuse to demand and enforce decent, moral behvior because demanding and enforcing standards is "disriminatory" and judgemental...
...and lo and behold, they've got a "behavior problem" in society, in public. What an unforeseen outcome!
I know, let's set up cameras and loudspeakers in the parks. That'll work to fix all the ills we've embedded in our subjects in every conceivable way from cradle to grave.
Are these people actually surprised or concerned about anti-social behavior? How is it possible for them to be when they have done everything in their power to guarantee it?
And now they're "shocked, SHOCKED" that ill-bred, uninformed, undisciplined, badly-educated people act like "yobs".
How fucking typical of Liberals.
They say a Liberal is a conservative that's hasn't been mugged yet. Maybe if their streets get dangerous enough, if the bad-behavior spills into their haunts, neighborhhoods, and destroys their precious exclusivity, the Liberal Elite will...
Oh right. What am I saying? If that weren't already happening, there would be no response necessary at all, no matter how dysfunctional and pointless. It is...and THIS is their best solution. Brilliant.
Three cheers to the Liberals for their boggy intellect and unerring grasp of the precisely wrong thing. They are nothing if not consistent and predictable.

You've got me with that one. It is a quote from "Brave New World", or "1984" or maybe "Fahrenheit 451" ?
ReplyDeleteIf it isn't, it ought to be.
None of the above, but a video game, oddly enough. Half Life 2.
ReplyDeleteIf you're using a Windows PC, you really should look into getting hold of it, a brave resistance against an invasion by an entirely alien way of life, with the only weapons available the ones you steal from the twitching hands of your dead enemies. I think you might like it, Gunslinger.
Got a Mac.
