Shortsighted

I'm becoming a little concerned with the frequent and fervent pleasure the Right has been expressing in the discomfort and difficulty that Hillary Clinton is having with Barry Obama.

Their hatred of Mrs. Clinton is such that her taking a beating from anyone is a delightful spectacle to them. I'm afraid I can't agree. Obama is scary. He's the worst thing that could have happened to this presidential race.

He's an empty suit, a freaking radical Left-Winger who sounds reasonable. He's full of nice-sounding platitudes and the comforting vocabulary of "hope"....without a shred of substance. He's got a beautiful speaking voice...and the supreme advantage of being Black.

He is a MUCH more dangerous adversary than Hillary would be in the general election. In the sound-bite world of TV and radio campaigning, wouldn't you rather have her high pitched, grating shrieking than his melodious bell tones opposing the Republican candidate?

Hillary is a well known, and seriously disliked character. That's a built-in and exploitable advantage for any Republican candidate.

Even though she tries to use the sex issue to paint herself discriminated against, nobody but a 6-member radical feminist consciousness raising group in Manhattan is buying it. Everybody knows she is a dirty fighter, a low-down scrapper...and nobody will seriously consider it "ungentlemanly" of a male adversary to attack her.

Obama is a different animal. His blackness, to some extent, insulates him from attack. We're all currently so insane over race, the slightest word that can be twisted and distorted to be seen as "racist"—which in a Presidential campaign will be any word against the man—may very well have the power to sink a Republican opponent.

Racism is manufactured from the most innocent of statements, and it has ruined lives and livelihoods. I foresee a potentially impossible situation for a white Republican candidate if Obama is his opponent. Anything critical, opposing or accusatory will be warped into "racism" if at all possible, by the likes of Sharpton, Jackson and their ilk...and the pandering press.

This will create a situation in which the White candidate will walk on eggshells to avoid such charges, and thus be unable to mount an effective campaign.

I'm not happy that so many, including the Radical Left and the Liberal Press have turned against Hillary because I worry they will be all too effective in taking her down and giving us a much worse and more dangerous Democratic candidate.

  1. I agree...however, despite the fighting going on for the primary...my biggest fear is a joint Obama, Clinton ticket. yeah.
Bad Juju...really bad juju for us conservatives.

  2. I think both have too much animosity and ego to combine on a ticket. At least I sure hope so!

  3. I believe an Obabma/Clinton, Clinton/Obama ticket is not only possible, it's very likely. In politics, two people who can't stand one another have often hooked up in a power play. The most noted in recent history is probably the Kennedy/Johnson ticket. I'm also convinced that whatever sorry choice the Republicans come up with won't stand a chance against this combination.
The only solace I can offer conservatives is that this presidency, coupled with a democratic congress, may well hasten the downfall of our country; not unlike cutting the cancer out of a slowly dying body. Possibly then we'll get off our dead asses and retake control so that we may salvage what remains.
Getting back to the original topic, perhaps if Obamas opponent prefaces all comments directed toward him with "I'm talking to the white half..." they could avoid the whole race thing. What is the formula of racial mix before one stops being referred to as black? Do Asians feel slighted when Tiger Woods wins a game of golf and they get no press? Apparently they're not high enough on the food chain to get equal media mention.
Another thought. Maybe the gender issue could be circumvented if Hillarys opponents directed all of their comments to her male half.LMAO
