I'm reading a book called "Knowing the Enemy"...(on my Thanksgiving Vacation...which is why I'm not there to post)

Ms. Habeck says we should listen to what the Jihadists themselves say to figure them out. And what they have to say is so much worse and crazier and insane than you think! She has made quite a study of their point of view. And I have to give her credit; living in that place, just reading the book, made me almost nauseous...I can't imagine how it must have been to immerse herself in this sick thinking for the extended time necessary to research, organize, understand and write this book.

The Jihadists are pure evil. If facts contradict them, they reject them; if truth contradicts them, they lie; if justice contradicts them, they blame others, if law and decency contradict them, they vacate the law, and redefine "decency". If I believed in Satan, I'd say they are his top tier henchmen. They are utter totalitarians. What you want is of no more importance to them than what an insect "wants". And if you don't want what they want, you are an "aggressive" enemy...even if you are just quietly living your suburban life in America, minding your own business.

They are, by tenets of their own faith, not allowed to wage aggressive war. Only defensive war. So they have redefined the terms: If you do not submit to their rule and domination, you are "attacking" Islam. And that is all the provocation they need to blow you, your wife and children to smithereens in a "defensive" war against the Infidel Crusaders. And "Infidel Crusader" is a Lutheran bookbinder living in Wausa, a Catholic surfer in San Diego, an Evangelical kindergarten teacher in Alabama, a Mormon teenage flute player in Salt Lake, an Buddhist grandmother teaching Yoga in San Francisco. And Ms. Habeck goes through the entire catalog of warped, distorted, sick justifications they have created for killing them.

The one revelation is that the author makes a point I have been very skeptical of: That there are, indeed, moderate/liberal (in the good sense) Muslims. She describes the battle going on inside Islam. The Jihadists vs the majority of Muslims, who do not approve of terrorism, do not want war, and prefer to live in peaceful coexistence with other religions and cultures.

To me the face of Islam is the Jihadists. But I am happy to believe that most of them are not these sick freaks. I am wary, but encouraged, and I am led to believe the reason that we do not hear more about their struggle and the protests of mainstream Muslims is not that is isn't happening, but that the MSM does not see fit to report on it.

There's a big surprise.

If you want to know what the Jihadists want, what their motivation is, why they hate the United States (and everyone else), and why there is no compromise or negotiation possible, and why the solution might be found in Islam itself...read this book. You might think you've already heard it. But you haven't. You've only heard the speculations by observers and "experts" who analyze them, but don't really listen to them.

Mary Habeck lets the Jihadists speak for themselves. And the truth is more demented than you could ever imagine.
