Hollywood Analysis

Here's an article about why Hollywood Iraq War movies are not doing well at the box office. It boils down to this:

Iraq films remain a difficult sell for audiences because of the swirl of confusion surrounding the rights and wrongs of the conflict, he added.

World War II was hugely romanticized in terms of its fiction. There were unambiguous villains, and the feeling we were fighting the right people over the right issues, as opposed to this war, which many people feel is misguided.

Let's rewrite that, shall we, so that the thoughts struggling to emerge become clear:

All those great World War II movies were made by patriots who loved America. They knew their country was great, and showed that greatness and optimism on screen. Americans, agreeing, flocked to the movies.

But now, Hollywood can't write a good word about America, while the American people still love her. They're sick to death of all the America bashing they hear in the Liberal media. They sure as hell aren't going to pay to see more of it at the movies.

So simple. So obvious. So impossible for Hollywood to wrap their tiny little minds around.
