From Their Own Mouths

"The Right-Wing has succeeded in purging the Left from mainstream politics, but like hope, socialism can never die. The desire to have a world free of masters where the economy operates on a heart rather than greed is a continuity over time. No matter how many laws are implemented, no matter how many unions are busted, no matter how many protesters are shot at, no matter how many media stations are bought off, no matter how many periods of intense propaganda consume our culture -- socialism will emerge victorious."

These are the words, written in 2007, by a Moonbat at Democratic Underground.

Where to begin...

These are the words of someone utterly detached from reality. There is a preponderance of evidence that prove each of his declarations—beyond the criminal standard of "beyond a reasonable doubt"—to be completely false:

1) That statement that Socialism is superior to Capitalism.

TGS: History has proven that Socialism leads to lower standards of living, economic stagnation, limited freedom, limited choice, government control, and ultimately tyranny; and that Capitalism leads to high standards of living, economic prosperity, more freedom, an abundance of choices, and, at least ideally, smaller and less powerful government.

2) That declaration that the Right Wing has "purged" the Left from mainstream politics.

TGS: The Left drives the Democratic Party agenda; almost every television network, almost every newspaper, almost every university are Left-Wing enclaves. Exactly what "mainstream" is he referring to?

3) That implication that Socialism is "free of masters"

TGS: I guess someone should have told Kim Jong Il, Castro, Chavez, Lenin, Stalin, Pol Pot, Mao...

4) That Socialism will emerge victorious.

TGS: Someone give this idiot a history book.

I'm not sure how to deal with this. How can one prove the falsity of this dogma, when it's clear that objective evidence, and sound reasoning does not persuade?

Of course, they , like all the useful idiots before them, would be tragically disillusioned with the "real thing"...but it should not take a literal descent into the Pit to realize you don't want to serve the Devil.

  1. Gunslinger,

This person (i use that term loosely) that wrote this at DU has simply given up on life. He/She has thrown in the towel, basically saying that he/she cannot reach the potential he/she once thought could be reached.

This is a surrender by a human being. This is a grown adult, falling to the ground, kicking and screaming and hollering out, "It's True! I'm mediocre. I'm worthless. I need to be taken care of."
