The Left's Investment in Failure

Thomas Sowell, maybe the wisest man on earth, has written a column that supports my theory that the Left are not to be listened to, but watched...to see their REAL agenda.

He too says their protestations of concern for the poor (and sundry other unfortunates) are just smokescreen and empty rhetoric, to be used, as convenient, to further their predetermined goals regardless of their actual effect on the lives of real people and society at large.

  1. excellent article!

Yes, it just substantiates that the Left feeds on misery. The blacks in America have voted for decades for Democrats because of promises to make things better for them, yet the Dems have done just the opposite. The Dems KNEW that if indeed, the Black population of the U.S. bettered themselves, they would lose that vote.

I watched a talk show thingy one day where there was a woman who had lived a life of verbal abuse from her husband. Under scrutiny, the husband's behavior was totally based on insecurity - he told her she was fat, ugly, worthless so she would feel that way, stay home and never socialize and thus he'd keep her as his.

That is exactly what the Left has done to Americans since day one. They constantly point out pockets of poverty when the standard of living has increased. They jump all over the comments made by Don Imus about a black female college basketball team but where were they when the tide turned and those young women MADE that team?

It's disgusting. If you had a neighbor who treated his kids like the left treats people, you'd report him to the authorities.

  2. The way i see it, whoever you are, whichever group you belong to and whatever your struggle, if you find the left barracking on your side. Rest assured you will always be struggling, until you reject them.

Here in Australia we have a name for people who are starting out and struggling with life, we call them the battler. I often say about our own brand of leftists, they are always for the battler, just not for ending your battle.

  3. mk,

I think you make a great point there!

Here's an example of the American Left at work. Take the "palestinians" situation. Our Left here totally sympathizes with the palestinians because they have bought into the farce that they were "kicked out" of their land and are "oppressed" by Israel (or the Zionists as some on the Left like to use).

The truth of the matter is this...the Left here simply sides with anyone in that "battler" mode you described. So we have Leftist politicians in the U.S.A. who will condone or ignore blatant torture and terrorism by Hamas and Fatah because they are "battling."

So in other words, if I'm an American, and I happen to live below the poverty line, and I qualify for the "battler" status, it's aokay with the Left for me to:

    1. Ransack my "Rich" neighbor's home, steal his stuff and hijack his car.

    2. Line up for free food stamps and a free assistance check and then bitch about the government as I cash them in

Human beings respond to positive reinforcement. As a student in school, getting an "A" or a "B" on a test was gratifying, but when my teacher told the class that she was impressed with my score, that raised my spirits and confidence and when my parents gave me a hug for doing a "great job" , well, my smile lasted for days.

The Left simply recognizes a student that is slow or struggling, and instead of rewarding some improvement, they simply work to make that student comfortable in his languished state.

Some day the people will wake up from this sleep.

  4. If the Left is on your side...you're guaranteed to remain a failure.

It is advantageous to the Left to keep you that way.

People fail to realize this because they listen to what the Left SAYS, not what it actually DOES.
