Hamas and the Peace Prize

Hamas has kicked Fatah out of Gaza.* They looted Arafat's house in Gaza City, stealing his Nobel Peace Prize. I find that cruelly satisfying and amusing on so many levels.

Fatah leaders are outraged. Naturally. They are Muslims, after all; that is their default position.

The Wall Street Journal has this to say:
"The deeper lesson here is that a society that has spent the last decade celebrating suicide bombing would inevitably become a victim of its own nihilistic impulses. This is . . . the bitter fruit of the decades of dictatorship and terrorism as statecraft that Yasser Arafat instilled among Palestinians."
Hard to argue with that. The evil that men do lives after them...

The Gunslinger

*Upon re-reading this, I discovered the odd sing-song cadence it has. A lot of A's in that sentence.
