Libertarian Isolationism is Not the Answer

A very good piece from Western Resistance
"What is lacking in Mr. Paul's analysis is the role the Islamic Religion plays in motivating young Muslim men to commit mass murder. Alone among the major Religions, Islam proclaims a state of permanent warfare between believers and unbelievers, and calls on devout young men to martyr themselves in the cause of Allah. There is no change in our foreign policy that can alter this fact. It is not that Muslims hate us because of what we do, although that often is true. It is that they hate us no matter what we do, even when we do nothing. They hate us because we are not them."

Unfortunately, WAR is the answer!

  1. I don't know that that does lack from Paul's analyses. It may have lacked from the short comments he has been allowed to express.

There is no doubt that radical Islam is dangerous culturally, but our government gives aid to that radicalization with a foreign policy that attempts to force western views through the oppressive regimes it has aided or by bombing and starving their people. It ensures resentment and backlash.

The cultural changes needed in the region must come from the bottom up not from the top down. Rarely, has there been any real success in the government forcing freedom on to the people, but rather the people forcing freedom on to the government.

If our government were not doing the things it has over there radical islam would appeal to a handful of cranks and nothing more.

Also, I would point out that this argument, that we are being attacked because radical Islam preaches hatred for the unbeliever, comes from the same political group that recently praised the life of Falwell, who primarily made a living preaching hatred against homosexuals and other infidels.
