The French Sprout a Pair!

It's hard to imagine, but the French have done the unexpected...in a GOOD way. They elected Nicolas Sarkozy...a...gasp!...Right Winger, President! He has actually said he likes America, and pledges to be a staunch friend and ally...

I think I'm going to have an attack of the vapors, I'm so shocked.

I'm not a big France watcher, so I didn't see this coming. I heard a bit about it, but never really expected the French to be so...sensible and serious.

This seems to be pretty much unmitigated good news. For France, and for Franco-American relations. And for the moment, I'm just going to enjoy the good news.

Now, if "America's France", California, would just grow a pair...I'd REALLY get optimistic!
