Why We Fight

Last night, around 10:50 pm, I became a Great Auntie for the first time. Celia, 7lb. 7 oz, was born to my beautiful niece, Marie.

All reports by Grandma (my baby sister, Paula) and Daddy (Randy) are that she is the most beautiful baby ever born in the history of mankind.

There's no picture, only because I don't have one yet.

She was delivered C-section because of...well...whatever causes babies to be delivered that way. What the hell do I know, I don't have kids. My sum total of knowledge on the subject:

a) graduated discomfort for months, and then

b) impossible, agonizing pain for a somewhat shorter time, and then

c) a miracle!

Celia has to grow up in this world. And it's going to be a better, safer one than it is now, or SOMEBODY's gonna get shot.
