Propaganda or Peril?

I'm not smart enough to know if this is as scary as it sounds. I hope someone who is, will read it and let me know.

Editorials and opinions, even in respectable journals can be somewhat alarmist. I just don't know enough about the law to know whether this is or is not a true peril.
