"People love a good conspiracy theory, which may be one of the reasons that actor Charlie Sheen is going to narrate a documentary about how the World Trade Towers were brought down by the U.S. government. About the same time, Rosie O'Donnell added her credibility to the project... A lot of the tin-foil hat crowd, have at least a little in common with Sheen and O'Donnell. They just don't like to think about how much our enemies actually hate us. It's easier to escape down a rabbit hole to a land where our own government is tricking us into thinking the world is a dangerous place."

OH. GOD. I. HOPE. HE. RUNS. FOR. PRESIDENT.
Here's a theory I hadn't considered before: The world is so dangerous, and old-fashioned, shake-you-to-your-core EVIL really does strides the planet, and some people simply cannot cope with that reality. They are desperate for any explanation that makes it all go away!
It makes total sense! I could NEVER figure out why healthy, happy, prosperous Americans, blessed with such a great country, would go so sideways/wonky and insist that all the trouble in the world is either caused by our behavior, or a conspiracy to make us believe in EVIL, when it really doesn't exist at all.
Now I see:
1) If it's caused by our behavior..all we have to do is change it, and all the unpleasantness will go away.
2) If it's a conspiracy to make us believe, falsely, in EVIL...all we have to do is expose it and realize that there is really no EVIL after all...no monsters in the closet.
How comforting. How needy. How childlike.
Unfortunately, it's also insane. Creating an alternate, fantasy reality to escape from the real world is called Schizophrenia.
These people are the TV equivalent of the unfortunates we see shouting and drooling on streetcorners in any major city.
And we listen to them because they have nicer clothes and hairdos, I suppose.
