Senatorial Stupidity

Yes, this is my Senator. I feel so blessed:

[from the Wall Street Journal]

'The Feinstein' Award For Clueless Senators
February 22, 2007; Page B6
In her Feb. 20 Letter to the Editor, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D., Calif.) challenges Kimberley Strassel's Feb. 16 Potomac Watch column "Senate Consternation Process," claiming it "totally mischaracterizes the debate over how to ensure that U.S. attorneys receive Senate confirmation."

As evidence she states: "The facts are these: a) Unknown to senators, a provision was inserted into the Patriot Act reauthorization last year that allows interim U.S. attorneys to be appointed indefinitely without Senate confirmation . . ."

I, for one, appreciate the senator's candor and propose a new national award to recognize senators who haven't a clue about what they are voting on and then admit so publicly. We'll affectionately call it "The Feinstein." I suggest we then graciously accept awardee's resignation.
