More Media Lies

This is what Byron York (NRO) wrote:

"Watching press coverage of the Republican candidate for vice president, it’s sometimes hard to decide whether Sarah Palin is incompetent, stupid, unqualified, corrupt, backward, or — or, well, all of the above."

(Here's Byron York's original article.)

This is what CNN interviewer, Drew Griffin, quoted him as saying:

"It’s sometimes hard to decide whether Sarah Palin is incompetent, stupid, unqualified, corrupt, backward, or — or, well, all of the above."

Here's a clip of the fabulist reprobate lying to Sarah Palin, and his entire audience..

This practice has a name: Dowdifying. After Maureen Dowd of the New York Times who makes a habit of quoting in such a way (with the strategic use of elipses) that her victims appear to say something quite different from what they did, in fact, say.

Congratulations to Miss Dowd. Her shrewish and cunning method of lying has been adopted not only across the print editorial world, but has crossed over to broadcast "news" departments.

She must be so proud.

Criminal malfesance.

  1. Now that is funny, we have something in common. . . I often wonder if Obama is "incompetent, stupid, unqualified, corrupt, backward, or — or, well, all of the above"
